Annapolis Pediatricians

Looking through choices for Annapolis Pediatricians? Below are answers to frequently asked questions that you may ask when searching for a new pediatrician. This article was written during the coronavirus. You will find updated practices in red that reflect additional safety measures in place during the pandemic.

Annapolis Pediatrics

One of the first things I noticed about Annapolis Pediatrics was how thorough the information was on their website. I also loved that they offer supporting events for different parenting needs. Some events that they hold are prenatal open houses, breast feeding support, parenting school aged kids, breastfeeding, and baby basics. This is such a helpful way to serve patients not only through medical needs but also all around parenting aspects. Out of all my recommended Annapolis pediatricians, they offer the most educational support.

This service is for Annapolis Pediatrics patients only. We have reserved this time for our ill children with simple conditions who require a very brief visit, such as an ear or throat check. Please note, currently due to Covid, walk in appointments are not available. (January 2021)

All five Annapolis Pediatrics offices are open by appointment only.  Walk-ins are CLOSED.  We continue to have weekend and evening hours, all by appointment. To keep our patients and staff safe, things may look a little different in our offices.  Our waiting rooms remain closed and we have changed our check-in procedures.

  • All adults are required to wear a face mask for the duration of their time in our office. We ask that any children over the age of 3 also wear a mask (as tolerated). – Please wear your masks during your entire visit in our office.
  • To limit the number of people in the office, only one parent will be permitted to enter our office per child.
  • (Please do not walk into any of our offices without being pre-screened by a nurse over the phone.)
  • In order to keep our patients healthy, we will be scheduling some of our sick patients towards the end of the day to keep them separate from our well patients.  Virtual visits are still available throughout the day.

Also, we will not charge for calls on questions relating to an office visit that occurred within the previous seven days. Our after hours service can not schedule appointments or call in routine prescription refills.

Bayside Pediatrics

One of the most unique things about Bayside Pediatrics is the convenient online appointment scheduling. It is very user friendly and allows you to see all the physicians and their available times across one page. They also have 4 lactation consultants between their two locations.

Chesapeake Pediatrics

Two things stood out to me about this practice. First, during the covid pandemic, they are offering 3 appointment options with one being outdoor, curbside visits. The second notable thing about Chesapeake Pediatrics is one of the Nurse Practitioners, Lindsay Ward, is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. This is definitely a plus when an expecting mom is browsing through Annapolis pediatricians.

Covid Precautions:

We are available to you for three different types of appointments: Curbside visits, Office visits, and Telemedicine visits.

  • Curbside visits are in our private outdoor area if you prefer to be seen outside. For curbside visits, we will require that you remain in your car and call for check-in. We will maintain the one parent only during a visit at our curbside area.
  • For appointments inside of the office, once you arrive to the parking lot, you will call the front desk to check in while you remain in your car. When you are ready to be seen for your appointment, the front desk will call back your phone to have you enter the building. You will be escorted directly to an exam room or our new indoor “curbside” room by the nurse. We are allowing only one parent inside the building during the visit.
  • Telemedicine visits are via FACETIME, WHATSAPP or DOXIMITY.  If you choose to make a televisit via one of these platforms, you will still need to call the front desk to make an appointment and you will be given an appointment time.
